Dental Implants are a permanent solution to replacing gaps where previous tooth/teeth were. A ‘post’ is made from titanium and implanted into your jawbone, thus it becomes something similar to a ‘root’. This post then has a crown attached to it which is in the shape and colour of your natural teeth
They can be used to provide single crowns, fixed bridges or implant retained dentures.
They are advantageous in terms of not damaging adjacent teeth, which happens with conventional bridges. They are not susceptible to decay; however patients must still maintain meticulous oral hygiene.
