Torsten Moehl

Torsten Moehl

  • BDS (Rand) 1987

Torsten is an experienced general dental practitioner with a broad clinical interest and skill set gained over a 30-year period within hospital settings, National Health Service practice, and in private practice in South Africa and the United Kingdom. His clinical style of dentistry would be described as a caring, patient-centered approach with an emphasis on holistic and minimally invasive clinical techniques.

Torsten graduated BDS from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and following two years of compulsory military service, spent a further two years as a post-degree research fellow at the Medical Research Council, Johannesburg. Several publications in international scientific journals and a dissertation on ‘human growth factors’ earned him a Master of Science in Dentistry (Magna cum laude) degree from his alma mater.

This early exposure to a scientific approach has translated well into the clinical setting, and has led Torsten to seek out the masters in their field world-wide to enhance his passion for dentistry, which he sees more as a vocation than a job. He has been awarded Fellowships from the University of Genoa and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, completed the full curriculum over five years at the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies in the USA, and has recently completed a postgraduate qualification in sports dentistry from University College London. He holds memberships from the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Association of Dental Implantology UK, Dental Trauma UK and the Digital Dentistry Society, and is a certified Invisalign orthodontic provider.

Torsten has recently left the world of practice ownership, and is looking forward to concentrating just on clinical practice without the daily pressure of managing a practice.
